We have a request from Chris Juergens, the Anschutz Curator of Military History at History Colorado, to sponsor a Navy history-focused college intern to catalogue, scan photographs, and otherwise assist with the preparation of an online BB-45 exhibit. This one-year project will be known as the USS Colorado Submarine Association Internship in Military History. Most of the money would be given to the selected student as a stipend, while a small amount would be allocated for purchasing supplies (such as photo sleeves, acid free folders, etc.) to complete the work.
The Association Board has voted to fund the internship at a level of $2,500, but larger funding would be welcome. To support this work by donating to the Association, click here to make a donation. Please note “History Colorado” in the comments section. Your donation will be in addition to the $2,500 committed by the Association.
If prefer a donation by check, please make your check payable to USS Colorado Submarine Association with “History Colorado” noted on the check. Checks should be sent to USS Colorado Submarine Association, c/o Florence Mackin, 2137 Night Sky Ln, Lafayette, CO 80026.
This is a wonderful way to honor the proud history of previous USS Colorado's, as well as our World War II veterans.
